On Nov. 21, 2014 the Digger Dog show along with City of Monticello Utilities Department visited the 2nd grade at Jasper County Primary School in Monticello, GA. He told them that natural gas has no odor, so the gas company like City of Monticello Gas puts an odor in the gas so we can smell it when it is escaping! The substance that the gas company adds to the natural gas is called mercaptan which smells like rotten eggs!
